Hershey Public Library welcomes artists, monks of the Deprung Gomang Monastery.
What is a sand mandala?
The mandala is made by the methodical placement of grains of sand, and is a temporary creation.
There will be hands on activities on Wednesday, August 22 from 3-4 pm. Sand painting is a unique opportunity to try your hand at using the same tools the monks use to create the sand mandala. Learn how to paint traditional Tibetan symbols and mantras onto a stone. Please bring your own stone. Paint and brushes are provided. The mandala will be available for viewing during regular library hours. Registration is not required. Co-sponsored by Hershey: All Things Diversity.
