Pennsylvania Canine Search & Rescue Meet and Greet

PASCAR

Who is the Pennsylvania Canine Search & Rescue? “PACSAR” is a group of highly trained and certified volunteers that offers Search and Rescue services free of charge, and provide additional resources to other SAR teams, local law enforcement, and fire companies in the surrounding areas of Lancaster County.

PACSAR’S K-9 team trains continuously and works toward certifications from a National/International Working Dog Association whose guidelines for the SAR Wilderness K-9 Certificates are recognized by FEMA, as they meet or exceed FEMAS Typed Resource Definitions FEMA 508-8.  Those Outside Working Dog Association’s are American Working Dog Association (A.W.D.A.), NSDA also NASAR.  When a K-9 Team is ready to be tested, an outside 3rd party certifier from A.W.D.A., NSDA or NASAR will come and then test that K-9 team for their certification.

Monday, April 24, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., come and meet the PACSAR individuals who demonstrate a mock search at the library.

Registration is required and can be done online at the Event Calendar, or by calling the Circulation Desk at 533-6555.
