Summer Reading Program
The library offers a new Adult Summer Reading Program, Constellation Challenge, from Saturday, June 1. Pick up your game board from the front desk from June 1. Materials and prizes are graciously provided by Friends of the Hershey Public Library.

Bravura Brass: A Universe of Music
June 18 at 1:00 pm. Bravura Brass: A Universe of Music is the first Terrific Tuesday family program. We welcome back our friends the Bravura Brass as they share a selection of spaced-out classics including Fly Me to the Moon, Stardust, Blue Moon and many more! Registration is not required. Sponsored by the Friends.
Summer Quest: A Universe of Stories
June 7. 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. Summer Quest Kick-off. Come over right after school closes for the year! Kick off the summer the right way by stopping by the library to register for Summer Quest and for fun activities. Summer Quest is for children ages 0-17.
Next Generation Yoga for Teens
High school teens, please register online to join instructor, Cindy Lesher, for yoga classes that offer the practice of peer connection and interaction, calming techniques, group discussion, yoga poses and group activities. Wednesdays at 3:00 pm to 3:50 pm. June 12 to July 17.
Wednesdays in June 19 and 26, July 3, 17 and 24 at 1:30 pm. Please register online for each Teen Time event for kids in grade 6 and higher. First up, Meteor Shower! on June 19. Come to an outdoor program (weather permitting) for “Meteor shower!” Decorate a fabric bag with hand-thrown paint balls (meteors!)
Programs for reading and book sharing
Book Buddies, Chewsy Readers (ages 7and 8), Chewsy Readers (ages 9 and 10), and Furry Tales are summer reading program favorites with kids and parents to encourage love of books, and to improve reading skills in young children. Registration is open for all three programs. Programs run from June 17 to July 24. Please visit each link for details. The Books We Love to Read!
Once a year, library staff compile a list of their favorite books read during the previous year. This mixture of new and old, fiction and non-fiction is much anticipated and enjoyed by our patrons. For later years, find copies in print at the library. Staff Picks provides reading suggestions covering many genres. Staff Picks 2019 available NOW!
